A small oil on canvas by Westcountry artist Fred Yates looks likely to prove very popular in Michael Bowman's Online Auction to be held next Saturday 28th November at 2pm. 'Les Plaisires Du Bain' by Fred Yates (1922-2008), measures just 9" x 13", but in many respects, leaves very little to the imagination! Its estimate of £800-1,200 is likely to be comfortably met with on the day, as these particular type of interior scenes by Yates appear to be very much in vogue.
A certified Ceylon sapphire and diamond ring, offers viewers a very different sort of display, by exhibiting a colour change under artificial light. Weighing, 3.52 carats and accompanied by numerous small diamonds, the sapphire is certified as having had no heat treatment and though appearing a fresh vibrant blue in daylight, the stone exhibits a distinct bluish purple under incandescent light. Bids of £2,000-3,000 are anticipated.
