Auction Preview: 16th November

An imposing mahogany longcase clock chiming on eight tubular bells will feature in Michael Bowman's forthcoming auction at Chudleigh Town Hall to be held on Saturday 16th November at 2pm. Standing more than 7 feet high, this early 20th century timepiece has a circular white enamelled convex dial inscribed for the illustrious retailer, Maple & Co and carries hopes of £1,200-1,800.

A triple strand pearl choker necklace with a lavish diamond pendant, promises to be one of the leading jewellery entries, looking for bids in the region of £3,000-4,000. A large rectangular 15 carat tanzanite ring will also catch the eye, estimated at £1,500-2,000. This has small diamonds set to shoulders and is accompanied by a Lab Report certifying the stone as natural. A diamond line bracelet includes a total diamond weight of approximately 5 carats and anticipates bids of £2,500-3,000.

A gent's stainless steel automatic wrist watch by Cartier, has a dial pave set with diamonds and comes with its original box, giving it potential as a generous Christmas present with a price tag of £2,000-3,000.

Collectors items include the flintlock blunderbuss at £400-600 and a selection of Royal Worcester porcelain hand painted with fruit by various Worcester artists. A watercolour of the Devon & Somerset hunt by Lionel Edwards should attract bids of £800-1,200.

The sale is on view at Chudleigh on Friday evening 15th November 4:30-8:30pm and from 10:30am on Sale Day.
