Auction Preview: 18th May

An imposing Victorian ebonized chiming bracket clock will be included in Michael Bowman’s 2pm auction at Chudleigh Town Hall next Saturday 18th May. It comes with an impeccable pedigree, being accompanied by its original bill of
sale dated ‘Xmas 1886’ from the Queen’s clockmakers, M. F. Dent to a Captain Robert Macneill. The clock came at an original cost of £60 and its bracket was bought for a further £2. An expensive item in its day! On Saturday, bids of £2,000-3,000 are anticipated.

Another timepiece with its original paperwork is the 1986 Rolex Oyster Datejust wrist watch in stainless steel. This has its original box and also looks for bids in the region of £2,000-3,000. A gold plated Omega Seamaster from
the same vendor has hopes of £400-600.

An extensive jewellery section will be led by two rings, each estimated at £4,000-6,000. The first, a certified natural 8.65 carat Ceylon sapphire & diamond cluster ring in white metal. The other being a three stone diamond ring with central stone of approximately 1.5 carats on yellow ‘18ct’ shank.

The sale is on view next Friday evening 4:30-8:30pm and from 10:30am on Sale Day. For catalogues and enquiries contact Michael Bowman on 01626 324071
